Warners Classics announces the forthcoming release of 'Souvenirs' with renowned cellist Gautier Capucon. It includes music for cello solo recorded by Michael Fine with engineer Erdo Groot in Philharmonie de Paris's studio: Bach's Suite Nr 1; Kodaly's Sonata for Solo Cello, op. 8 and Dutilleux's Trois Strophes sur le nom de Sacher. The recording celebrates Gautier Capucon's 40th birthday. https://www.warnerclassics.
Michael Fine will produce sessions in Ghent's historic Academy One Studios with conductor Kristiina Poska and the Flanders Symphony Orchestra. First up is Prokofiev's Classical Symphony. In December, flutist Stathis Karapanos will record Khachaturian's Flute Concerto with Maestra Poska and the FSO.
Philip Mann led sessions at Texas Tech University's Hemmerle Hall in Lubbock of music by Copland (Appalachian Spring) and Michael Fine (Finding Home and A Time of Uncertainties) played by the Ensemble Bravura. In addition, clarinetist Alexander Bedenko, violinists Grace Park and Kiril Laskarov, violist Elias Goldstein, cellist Maksim Velichkin and pianist Tatiana Roitman recorded Prokofiev's Overture on Hebrew Themes. When post production is complete, these will be added to the recording made at Texas Tech in 2020 of Michael Fine's Concierto del Luna (with flutist Alexa Still and guitarist Jason Vieaux) and Aaron Kernis' Air (Alexa Still and Tatiana Roitman.)
Award winning violnist Grace Park records Mozart's Violin Concerto Nr 5, Dvorak's Romance, and the world premiere of an orchestration by Alex Fortes of Dvorak's Four Romantic Pieces with Emmanuel Villaume conducting the Prague Philharmonia Orchestra. Michael Fine produced the sessions at the Church of Sts Simon and Jude with Jakub Hadraba, engineer. The recording is already in post-production. Grace Park is the recent laureate of the prestigious Naumberg Competition.
