The concert world premiere of 'A Time of Uncertainties'

The concert world premiere of 'A Time of Uncertainties' by Michael Fine will be performed in Prague's historic Lobkowicz Palace by Emmanuel Villaume conducting the PKF-Prague Philharmonia on 9 June.  Villaume and the PKF performed Fine's Chamber Symphony in a televised concert in 2021. Michael Fine wrote A Time of Uncertainties in an airport lounge in the United States.  He was flying back earlier than planned, home to The Netherlands, after learning that his wife had entered a hospital’s intensive care unit, dangerously ill.  The doctor he spoke with was not optimistic.  He finished the piece moments before the flight was called.  Happily, his wife made a full recovery.   https://www.pkf.cz/en/2021-2022/l2-evening-with-emmanuel-villaume

Our recording on Evidence Classics of Jae-Hyuck Cho's performances of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concertos

Our recording on Evidence Classics of Jae-Hyuck Cho's performances of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concertos 2 and 3, with Hans Graf conducting the Russian National Orchestra is now available on Apple Music and Tidal in a beautiful new Dolby ATMOS surround immersive mix.  Played back through a surround system, one has the sense of having a private concert in Moscow's beautiful Zaraydye Hall.  In good headphones and earbuds, it sounds richer, more open.  https://music.apple.com/nl/album/rachmaninov-piano-concertos-nos-2-3/1583064201?l=en.  And here a nice review of the recording with a video interview: https://www.classicalexplorer.com/rachmaninov-piano-concertos-nos-2-3/

The long delayed conclusion of cellist Bion Tsang's and conductor

The long delayed conclusion of cellist Bion Tsang's and conductor Scott Yoo's recording of Tchaikovsky, Schumann, and Casals with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra finally happened just after the New Year at the RSNO Centre in Glasgow.  The Tchaikovsky Rococo Variations had been recorded several years back and was waiting for the other pieces to finish the recording, scheduled to be released on SONY Classics.  During the long COVID induced wait - with several postponements - a new edition of the Schumann Concerto, prepared by British cellist Josephine Knight, which adheres closely to Schumann's own manuscript was published.  The postponement allowed to use this edition - the first recording made of this version that takes us back to Schumann's own thoughts without the emendations by others who thought they were 'helping' the composer.  The sessions were also filmed for an episode of the PBS Emmy nominated hit show 'Now Here This.' http://nowhearthis.org/
